Sip Studios wasn't built for brands or institutions. It was built for the independent artist who needed a real recording studio, the filmmaker who couldn't afford a production house, the comedian who just needed a room with a stage and an audience. We are the infrastructure the creative community in Jersey City never had.
Studios, sets, gear, event space — all under one roof, priced for real creatives. You don't need to know someone or have a major label behind you. You just need to show up.

Every year, we built
something new.
An abandoned high school becomes a vision
A vacant building on Sip Avenue in Jersey City. Most people walked past it. We saw a studio, a stage, a community — and got to work.
The space comes alive
Walls are torn down. New ones go up. Sip Studios takes shape as a real creative sanctuary — raw, intentional, and built by hand.
Official launch — May 11, 2019
Doors open on May 11th. The community shows up. Concrete floors, raw walls, real energy — Sip Studios officially launches as Jersey City's first independent creative production hub.
Built a recording studio during a pandemic
While the world locked down, we kept building. A full music recording studio was completed mid-COVID — because the artists still needed somewhere to create.
The community shows up
Musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and podcasters start booking time, moving in, and building real careers out of 140 Sip Avenue.
Angel investment. First grant. Real momentum.
Sip closes its first angel round and is named a winner of the Jersey City Arts & Culture Operational Grant — validating the mission with both private and public backing.
Film. Comedy. Music. Gaming.
Sip expands into a full creative slate — producing original film projects, hosting live comedy nights, recording artists, and running competitive gaming events. One building. Four disciplines.
The neighborhood catches up.
The Loews Jersey City reopens. Journal Square becomes the entertainment hub of the metro area. Sip Studios has been here since day one — and the community that built this place is still here.

The neighborhood
Journal Square is
on the rise.
Two blocks from the PATH train. Millions being invested in the neighborhood. The Loews Jersey City is reopening as a major entertainment venue. An Art Walk pedestrian plaza is proposed. Journal Square is becoming the entertainment hub of the metro area — and Sip has been here since day one.
